After meeting some of the most amazing photographers EVER, I now have an incredible appreciation for networking! I wanted to share a message that I said on Facebook to another photog because I know that this blog reaches thousands and I think it will make new photographers appreciate their art even more!
Experience does not make art, a person does. And the definition of art is not time on the job, it’s sharing a style and interpretation with the world. It doesn’t matter the equipment used, the technique applied – it matters that you captured something that moves you! – A small child that draws his first picture makes ART … and he uses a simple crayon and no experience – one of the best pieces he will make in his life. Don’t worry about being a newbie, you are still an artist!
Sometimes we get so locked in to comparing our work with others, I do it too. But I remind myself that the work I did years ago is not less artistic, it is just as equal. Yes, I may have mastered some techniques along the way that make it more visually appealing to others, but my past photographs are my history and that makes it just as precious as a new photograph I have taken.
Happy Photographing and here is a picture from snowy Michigan … hope it’s warmer where you are
