I love your personality, it’s one of the reasons that drew me to your work.  What makes you tick?

Ultimately I’m inspired by creating the life that I truly want.  In order to achieve this I know that every day I have to get up and make it happen.  I don’t believe that life just happens… it is what you make it.

What made you decide you wanted to be a photographer?

My Mother was a professional retoucher and she was my inspiration.  I worked in the art room at a lab for 4 years as a retouch artist. When I saw my first glamour shoot come through I said to myself “I want to do that!”  I got my first start in shooting portraits in a studio at the age of 22.

How would you describe your photography style?

How do you get your clients to interact with you during a photo session?

I talk to them – lots of talking.  I ask them a lot of questions and make them feel important.  Don’t talk about yourself.  It’s about them not you.  I also take control.  The more control and confidence you have the more relaxed your client is.

Are you Canon or Nikon?  What’s your favorite lens?

I’m a Canon lady and my favourite lens is the 35mm 1.4 I’ve also always owned the 24-105 as for my close quarters shooting it’s the most efficient.

.

What tip would you give aspiring photographers?

During times of economic slump the biggest enemy is our attitudes.  It is our thoughts, our positivity and our energy that is creating our now.  That’s hard for anyone to hear, but I believe the more struggle you see the more struggle you get. Put your creative brain on and evolve with the times/economy.  You can be market driven without compromising your self and your industry.  Mostly though work from a place of complete enthusiasm, always.  It’s infectious.
